Summer Camp
Summer Camp County offices promote and coordinate 4-H summer camp experiences unlike any other in the county. Counties travel to unique 4-H centers across the state offering fun, friendship and adventure for over 8,000 4-H'ers each summer. Visit the Georgia 4-H Website
Environmental Education
Environmental Education The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program is one of the nation’s largest and oldest providers of local environmental education, serving over 45,000 people annually. The research-based curriculum provides hands-on learning experiences aligned with Georgia Performance Standards.
Livestock Program
Livestock Program The Georgia 4-H Livestock Program gives students the opportunity to practice and acquire new knowledge in the fields of animal science, business, time management and leadership.
Project Achievement
Project Achievement This core program showcases the work and success of 4-H'ers through presentations and portfolios on numerous topics. Members compete against their peers at the local, district and state levels in an effort to master their project.

Project S.A.F.E.
Project S.A.F.E. Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) is a curriculum based and designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities.
Military Programs UGA Extension Military Outreach builds partnerships and provides programs that help Georgia military families find positive ways to cope with the stress of military life.

May 4 2024 Annual Blueberry Cooking Contest Alma, GA Join us for the 2024 Annual Blueberry Cooking Contest for Youth and Adults on May 4, 2024! Cost is FREE to participate. Entries are welcome from men (18+), women (18+), and youth (17 and under). See flyer and registration form for more complete information. Adult winners will receive: 1st ($50), 2nd ($35), 3rd ($25); children/youth winners receive: 1st ($15), 2nd ($10), 3rd ($5). Contest sponsored by Jay's IGA and UGA Extension, Bacon County. Anyone is welcome to attend. After entries are judged, any individual in attendance may elect to pay a $1.00 tasting fee and taste any or all of the entries present.

  • May 4 Plant Sale Fundraiser for Master Gardener Volunteers This fundraiser is part of the Spring into Summer Makers Market at the Ballard Complex on May 4th. Money raised will go back into the Madge Merritt 4-H Teaching Garden where the sale is taking place. Come tour the garden, buy some plants, and enjoy the rest of the Makers Market. This is a Cash and Carry fundraiser so please make sure you have some cash on hand! There will be restrooms available and parking on an asphalt lot.

  • May 6 2024 Equine Exchange: Behavior and Training The Equine Exchange is a monthly webinar that has provided practical equine management information for horse owners since 2022. In 2024, the series will follow a set curriculum of topics related to equine behavior and training. The program is at 12PM EST, virtual via Zoom, and is free to attend.   • May 22 Crafting Kombucha at Home Workshop UGA Extension Grady and Thomas County will be hosting a Crafting Kombucha at Home Workshop on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 5:30 PM at the Grady County Extension Office. The all inclusive registration fee of $25 will cover the 1 hour workshop, demonstration of Kombucha Brewing, Tested Recipe, most of the Kombucha ingredients for producing Kombucha at home, pH Strips, Food Thermometer, and Kombucha Cup.
