May 22 So You Think You Want Bees Join Pike County Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent, Brooklyne Wassel to find out if bees are right for you. This class will cover information like budget, equipment, and expectations associated with getting started with beekeeping. This is a free, virtual session. May 9 Union/Towns Master Naturalist Program Series 1 Blairsville, GA - (78.0 miles) The Master Naturalist Program covers natural resource topics such as native plants, invasive species, birds, tree ID, watershed management, mushrooms, pollinators and more. This Master Naturalist training is broken up into spring and fall series. To be a certified Master Naturalist, attendance in in both series is required. Classes will be on Thursdays. Cost is $150 for each series.

We will learn health living tips and tricks from FACS Agent Jake Conner and then walk next door to the Walton County Pickelball Courts where we will have time to play as a class. Already experienced? Then jump right in? New to the game? We will have experienced pickelball players ready to walk you through the basics so you can feel confident playing, having fun and being active!
May 10 2024 Georgia Master Naturalist Program Bogart, GA - (45.0 miles) The Georgia Master Naturalist Program is an adult environmental education course developed by UGA Extension and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources for people interested in exploring the habitats, ecosystems and the natural environments of our state. The Program is a combination of lectures and hands-on field studies taught by UGA faculty and field experts. Each year's program is unique and field trips and topics are subject to change. Previous Athens Area Master Naturalist programs included trips to Thompson Mill Arboretum in Braselton, GA and Rock and Shoals Granite Outcrop. Georgia Master Naturalist Program graduates are invited to the annual ANREP conference. We are currently accepting applications for the 2024 Master Naturalist course! The course will begin in April of 2024 and will be held on Fridays for nine consecutive weeks.
